For your email to produce results, you’ll want a well designed AND optimized email. The Blade Advertising can help you with both. You can either provide your own HTML file or we can build the email for you based off of your content. Either way, follow our best practices below to launch a strong email blast.

Providing Your Own HTML File?

If you would like to provide your own HTML file, we ask that you follow some of these best-practices to help with the success of your email delivery.

Follow These Tips:

• The standard email size is 600px – 650px  wide.

• Images should be maximum of 600px – 650px wide and under 1MB. (The smaller the file size the better)

• For easy readability, keep your line spacing and font size at a minimum of 14-16 pt.

• Do not use one large image or multiple images without live text for your email. It may be tempting, but many subscribers have email images disabled altogether. So to be sure your content is visible to all recipients, you want to focus on the content, typography, layout and color so that it will communicate effectively both, with, and without images.

• Include relevant ALT text in your images if they are introducing new information. This allows the information to be visible if their images are disabled and/or they are using a screenreader.

• Make your call-to-actions prominent and keep buttons and clickable links towards the top so users do not have to scroll very long to get to them.

• Keep your content simple and straight to the point. Most users browse through emails without doing a lot of reading so it is important to use verbiage that will draw their attention and get them to click through to your landing page or URL.

• Send the body copy (live text) in a word doc, pdf, or through email. We just need it in a format that can be copied and pasted. (Not in an image)

• Provide URL links for any buttons/images that you want clickable

• Provide footer copy (if applicable)

Keep in mind, many subscribers have images disabled on their email altogether, so there’s a chance of them not seeing the images within your email. To be sure the important content is visible to all recipients, you want to focus on the content, typography, layout and color so that it will communicate effectively, both with, and without images.
